Jimi Hendrix is best known for his guitar riffs and his legendary emotional playing style.  Sadly, he passed away in 1970.  Perhaps even more sad is that he passed away without a will.  The government decided that his $80 million estate should pass to his father.

When his dad passed away in 2002, siblings, half-siblings, and other family members began a legal battle that resulted in lawsuits of $1.7 million and control of Jimi Hendrix’s copyrights.  You can see more about how the family began to turn on each other and the legal battles that ensued here.

Simply stated, 13 years of legal battles, $80 million in assets, and numerous copyrights would have all been protected by taking a little time to create a will.  Perhaps you don’t have the musical library or an $80 million estate to protect, but what you do have is important to securing peace of mind for your family.  We would be happy to provide you with a FREE 15 minute consultation regarding setting up a will and estate planning.  Simply fill out the form on this page  and we will reach out to you as quickly as possible.
